Mysterious la manzanera resort rises from the cliffs of the coast of Calpe, Spain

La manzanera took almost twenty years to construct, and today a complete resort and apartment complex swimming pools, bars, restaurants and sports facilities with swimming. The project most striking feature is however the incredible castle-like, black-Bau, that called Bofill Xanadu. The 18-apartment building with the shape of a fortress in the eye was designed, but it refers also the Penon de Ifach cliff.

Interestingly enough, no plans or elevations were drawn during the construction of the Xandau. Instead, the architect took the walls after piercing each apartment after what he and engineer determines the best way to maximize natural light, ventilation and privacy. In particular, the building has also shaded internal terraces to assist in the reduction of heat varied views of the countryside throughout the building to create hyperbolic roofs for better views, and fractures on the outside angle of the facade. The project is set on a series of olive tree terraces sloping down into the water, and its beautiful surroundings lend a relaxed state of mind by the sea.
